SEVEN LAST WORDS TAIZE
This Tuesday at 7 p.m!
This year we are combining the Taizé service with the Seven Last Words of Christ Service. Taizé, originally from a monastic order in Taizé, Burgundy France, is a service that alternates music with periods of silence or prayer. The music emphasizes simple, repetitive phrases; which come from Psalms and Scripture. Candlelight is essential to create the meditative setting of the music.
The Seven Last Words of Christ is a series of reflections and meditation on the last words or phrases spoken by Jesus as He hung on the cross, words that come hard in the throes of death and only from the inner depths of oneself. These words reveal His immense love, His determination, His humanness as well as His divinity, His intimate relationship with His Father, and finally His trust.
This service has been found to be very effective in helping worshippers into a deeper appreciation of this Passion of Christ.
As part of your Holy Week devotions, please come and experience this inspiring combination of the Seven Last Words of Christ with Taizé music on Tuesday, April 11th at 7:00 p.m. in the church. You will be so glad you did!
